About this event
Join us again this summer for our Nature Explorers series focused on the environment! Come for one, two, or all three of our sessions designed to explore the overlap between nature and science through games, activities, and trail investigations.
June’s Nature Expedition program will invite students to hike into nature – literally! Put on some boots and find out what wildlife is inhabiting Merry Lea’s woods. Use microscopes to examine specimens and see details in plants. Students will also get the opportunity to make a nature collage from plants they find while exploring.
Come for one or all three programs! Please register for each part of the series that you will be attending! See additional details for each program below:

July’s Rock & Mineral Mania program will have students engaged in an active investigation of Indiana’s rock and minerals. Students will get the opportunity to practice their rock and mineral ID skills, walk through the rock cycle, identify characteristics of rocks and much more! It would be gneiss if you could join us to rock out!
August’s Powered by Plants program will allow students to investigate plants on a deeper level. Students will learn parts of flowers and trees, do a simple flower dissection, and even make some art with the plants and trees that we explore. We will also discuss how animals may interact with the plants like beneficial pollinators and other animals.
