About this event

This is a field trip day held for homeschool students and their families. This session is Exploring Merry Lea Teaching Farm and is open to students K-12th grade. The field trip will start and end at The Farmstead Pavilion (2152 S 425 W, Albion, IN 46701). During the Exploring Merry Lea Teaching Farm program, students will have a variety of hands-on experiences. In the morning, we will walk to the farm to visit animals in the barn,
taste produce from the garden, and dig into the compost pile. Then in the afternoon, we will play a relay game to learn about farm life cycles and take turns using a hand-crank press to make apples into unpasteurized cider. We will conclude by tasting the cider we made.
